MOLLY & MAISIE
Molly and Maisie are two gorgeous 10-12 week old puppies who both have fused back legs.
It is likely that Molly will require to have her fused leg removed and, as both of Maisie’s are fused, treatment is limited. However, Bichon Friends have suggested that Maisie may benefit from having some doggie wheels made for her.
We have pledged to pay for all of Molly’s treatment and for a set of wheels for Maisie (depending on whether Maisie’s test drive works out). This donation will leave our funds extremely low so all donations given will help to ensure that money is available for any other Bichons who need it in the near future.
08.02.12 UPDATE: We have today paid £1,142.55 for Molly’s surgery to remove her back leg. This bill was larger than expected and has left our funds low. We still want to help Maisie get her wheels so if you are able to donate we, and little Maisie, would be very grateful. Please note that should Maisie not be suitable for wheels then any donations received will be put into our Kitty’s Wish Fund to help other Bichons. Thank you to those who have donated so far.
HOPEFUL & SPARKLE
Hopeful is a 3 year old Bichon. She was brought into rescue by a breeder with her puppy Sparkle. She is such a sweet girl and greets you with a wonderful waggy tail. She is however blind and we are hopeful that her eye can be operated on.
08.02.12 UPDATE: We have today paid £1,300 towards Hopeful’s surgery. We are told she is doing very well and is a changed dog. She is now reserved so hopefully will be going to her new home soon. Thank you to those who donated.
This is Sparkle who is an 8 week old Bichon x Cavalier. We know he isn’t a pure Bichon but we can’t not try to help this little guy. He arrived in rescue with a cleft pallet which is allowing food to go into his head. Treatment is urgent for this gorgeous puppy.
20.01.12 UPDATE: We have today paid for Sparkle’s surgery to the value of £644.30 via our general donation fund. The operation was a complete success and Sparkle is now recovering. He will need to have a tube in situ for several weeks before he has a check up to make sure everything has healed as it should and then he will be off to his new home! Thank you to those who donated.
Bichon Friends will be helping the following dogs by making a donation or paying for all of the treatment they require. The amount we give purely depends upon the funds we have available to us at the time treatment is needed. If you could make a donation to help us pay for more of the dog’s treatment then we, and the dogs, would be grateful. We always provide updates, where available, on the dog’s once they have had treatment (see our Donations Made page). Thank you!
