FRIENDS RECEIVE COMMUNITY AWARD 2010

A renowned benefactor, who has requested they remain anonymous, has awarded Friends one of their Community Awards for our service to Bichons in the UK. Charities and organisations are nominated by the company's employees and these nominations are then put to a committee who reviews each application based on set criteria before making an award.

We are extremely grateful for this company's support, terribly proud and delighted to have been recognised for the work we do. We do what we can to help these beautiful dogs but both Jan and I always feel it isn't enough and that we are a very small cog compared to other larger organisations. To be recognised in this way is just amazing and very humbling.

This monetary donation has been assigned to Kitty's Wish to be put towards the next Bichon in need. We still need your generous donations as, unfortunately, more and more Bichons are arriving in rescue centres needing life changing surgery and each time we help one it considerably drains our fund.

Award Update

We have used our Community Award to help Raffles and Ripples, two little Bichon girls who need cataract surgery. We notified our benefactor of our decision and were delighted to receive the following message back from the committee's Chairman:-

"We are delighted that the Community Award has helped two very deserving Bichons in such a fantastic way. We are proud to have the opportunity to recognise the work of this fantastic charity and to provide our support in this way. Please pass on my heart felt thanks to all those responsible at the charity for their endless hard work on behalf these wonderful little dogs."
